Management Coaching Becoming an effective manager and leader evolves slowly over time as experience is gained and management theory is put to use in work situations. Management coaching takes the form of short training sessions dealing with a particular management subject area. The sessions are ideal for small groups of managers and can last from one hour over a lunchtime or be longer and last half a day. The subject areas will be chosen by the client and address a particular need but typical subjects include:
• Generating Ideas • Setting and Managing Objectives • Running Effective Meetings • Managing Change • Effective Communication • Motivating People
Mentoring This is an ideal way of reinforcing what has been learnt at a GMS Management Solutions workshop or coaching session. Mentoring is carried out on a one to one basis and lasts, typically, around an hour. The sessions are particularly useful as they give a manager the opportunity to explore management challenges that they would like to address. These sessions can be very productive and beneficial, both to the individual and the organisation they work for.
