Introduction to Management
Moving into a management role for the first time can be a challenging and difficult experience. The Introduction to Management workshop is aimed at helping new or inexperienced managers become more effective and take control of their responsibilities.
The workshop considers what management is and how people can transition into their new role. It concentrates on the building blocks of effective management such as planning, control, decision-making and managing people. Following on from this it looks at how these building blocks are used in day-to-day management in areas such as recruitment, appraisals, dealing with issues and managing change.
The workshop is intended to be both interactive and enjoyable which aids learning. Part of the workshop involves a case study exercise which delegates always find stimulating and worthwhile.
Strategic Leadership
All organisations need a clear idea of what they are aiming to achieve; so formulating strategy is possibly the most critical of all management tasks. Creating a market beating strategy, whether at company or departmental level, is key to the success and mood of the organisation.
This workshop is designed for experienced managers who wish to increase their understanding of developing and leading strategic change. The content of the workshop will vary depending on the client organisation but is likely to focus on creating vision, developing strategy and how to manage the change process so that objectives are met. As with all GMS Management Solutions workshops this is interactive and will involve a case study exercise that can address a current challenge your organisation may be facing.
